A Letter to my Friends

Dearest friends…

I know I haven’t been around. I know I might come off as a bit of a work horse, or a robot, or like I’m just plain uninterested. I’m aware that I don’t proactively call you to chat on the phone or hang out for lunch or dinner or even a drink… This does not mean that I don’t care to or that I don’t care about you. This does not mean that I don’t value our friendship. It especially does not mean that I want you to leave me alone.

This is a letter of apology as well as a request for support.

For a while now I’ve been working 5-6 days a week at the restaurant, taking piano lessons once a week, and trying to train at the gym as often as I can.(I aim for 3 times a week. It’s all I can do right now without falling over at work.) Throw in meal planning, course studies, and music rehearsals and it makes for a pretty full schedule. Yes, it’s tough and it’s taxing but, waitressing aside, I love what I do!!!

I’ve decided to start this blog for a few reasons.

#1 – There are many of you that I don’t get to see very often and have expressed that you don’t really know what’s going on in my life anymore; that I have this whole “other life” that you don’t know of. I’m thinking this might be a good update on what I’ve been up to. This could either provide you with an understanding in why I’ve chosen this path for myself or it could just confirm your theories on my pending insanity.

#2 – This is also for other women out there who, like me, are starting their journey to becoming a personal trainer and/or a fitness athlete – for inspiration, motivation, maybe even some advice. I’ll be discussing challenges, feats, my nutrition, my cheat day confessions etc…

I’m going to leave you (for now) with this quotation that I think is very appropriate:

“The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart.”

Please know that even though I’m not getting drunk with you every weekend or there for all the dinner gatherings, I would drop my dumbbells in a second if you needed me.

I love you.
